Hi!

I already presented my fan-slider concpet on this list some
time ago.
http://www.y-windows.org/pipermail/y-devel/2004-June/001568.html

Now there's an actual implementation as GTK+ widget done
by Pete Bessman.

http://www.gazuga.net/phat-0.1.0.tar.gz

The actual demo is demos/phatfantest

Project site:

Just click and drag to the sides of the slider.

The demo shows the centered version for parameters like audio
panning, but the sliders can be all positive of course,
without the center indication line (white in Gnome default
theme).

Holding down ctrl freezes the precision axis, so only the
value can be changed.

Holding down shift freezes the value axis, so that you can
scale the fan up without worying about unintended value
change.

Now I understand it's a bit early in this project for stuff
like this, but I think making people aware of this can't
hurt :)
