Forking

If you use Subversion, you may use Sourceforge.net. Sourceforge.net has a lot of publicity and Subversion will be integrated in the near future, too(still in beta status).
If you take another way, you may at least open a project on Sourceforge.net(for stable releases etc.). It is a contact point for many people. I myself found a lot of interesting projects not with googling, but with searching in Sourceforge.net. You know what i mean?

There was another fork. Yplus or something like that. It also died, but maybe they have some interesting code.

BTW: I thought they want to develop without any public, without any third party contribution and that is the reason why there is no public progress. But it seems there is really no progress...
