Not a log, but a message: HotSync Problem: Conn. could not be
established. Please check setup...

When gpilotd crashes with "cannot open display", my PDA finishes with
the message above immediately. No timeout.

I tried:
gpilotd detaches from terminal (still is seen with ps) and dies after I
hit the sync-button on my pda...
