Help...Sony TJ37

Hi All,

I have searched i and low through Google for help getting my TJ37
working with Gentoo (2.6.11-gentoo-r4) on a Dell Inspiron 8200 and
have had no success using either the USB dongle or the IR port.

All the following is as root. While connected but before touching
HotSync, lsusb gives :

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

there is nothing else connected to the the two USB ports. Afet HotSync :

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 054c:0169 Sony Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

And there is appears. lsmod doesn't show and driver for the module.

I have tried j-pilot (and others) connecting too /dev/ttyUSB* and
/dev/ttyS* with no joy. Could somebody give me some pointers as to
where i may be going wrong?
