The issues you found are due to using the pre-release:

+++ qof-0.6.0-pre1/qof/Makefilie.am

The QofLogModule issue is a result of a change in 0.6.0 final where the 
previous log calls used a short int.

QOF >= 0.6.0 does compile on ARM. The pre-release did too but the gpe-expenses 
code is intended for the final release, not the pre-release.

It was a short int in QOF 0.6.0-pre1, changed to a QofLogModule (typedef const 
ghcar*) in the final 0.6.0 release.

Where did you find the pre-release? Each site should now show the final 0.6.0 
release as newer than pre1.
