Pending Insurance claim of US$1.8M requiring your attention; pls reply immediately.

We have had no previous interaction but I was able to obtain this email address through Internet search. I hope this is the right email address to contact you with. I am contacting you for a pending insurance deal in which your involvement is very suitable. My name is Alex Martins. I was the financial director in a defunct West African oil-servicing firm that went bankrupt 2 years ago.
   
Prior to this period, there had been an unclaimed life insurance policy, for which premiums were duly paid from funds that accrued from the expatriate quota of our defunct firm. Presently this life insurance policy (valued at US$1,800,000) is among outstanding claims due for settlement by the insurance company that issued the policy. My former MD and I intend to benefit from this settlement by having the insurance company pay out the policy to someone we shall present.
  
A deal like this may not work out in your country or in other developed countries of Europe, Asia and Americas, but in the West African country where the insurance company is based it could be very easily executed. I am currently back in the UK but my ex MD is fully on ground there.
   
For us to be able to achieve our aim, we unavoidably need the cooperation of an overseas partner who will file a claim on the policy using details and information we shall supply. We cannot by ourselves or in our names file this claim. But you are in a very good position to do so and it is for this reason that we are contacting you. Please be aware that all the right procedures and regulations to get the payment duly issued in your name will have to be followed for us to succeed.
   
We propose that after the payment of US$1,800,000 is made to you, we will split the funds three ways with each of us having an equal share of US$600,000. I will provide you with the full working details of our plan when I get your positive response and also confirm your full names. Also let us have your telephone/mobile number.
