Dear Members.., I am trying to build Opie on my Ubuntu Linux desktop. I followed all instructions given in the Opie website to build the source codes, which I managed to accomplish successfully. However, I had several problems while trying to run it. 1. Opie-1.2.0 When i built and tried to run Opie 1.2.0, on giving the command qpe, I got the following messages before it terminated: ODevice() - found 'vendor_id : GenuineIntel' OGlobal::creating global configuration instance. OConfig::OConfig() <unknown>: ODevice reports transformation to be 0 <unknown>: QWS_DISPLAY already set as 'QVFb:0' - overriding ODevice transformation Debug: ODevice::setDisplayStatus( 1 ) - please override me. Debug: ODevice::setDisplayContrast( 127 ) - please override me. : adding a preferred keyboard filter handler Warning: QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Warning: QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image Warning: QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Warning: QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image Warning: QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Warning: QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image Warning: QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Warning: QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image Warning: QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image Warning: QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image : VTApplet::popup Segmentation fault. 2. Opie-1.2.3 When I followed the exact same procedure for Opie-1.2.3 as I did for 1.2.0, qpe managed to run successfully in the qvfb window, however, when I tried to run the Opieplayer, I got the following error: Warning: Could not load close Warning: QDir::readDirEntries: Cannot read the directory: /dev/fd/4 Warning: QDir::remove: Empty or null file name Warning: QDir::remove: Empty or null file name And the warning line goes on printing till there is an error box that pops up on the screen saying "Opieplayer is not responding. Would you like to force the application to exit?". All other applications run fine. If you could kindly advice on ways that would solve my above two problems, it would be of great help to me. Thank you members, sincerely, Rajalakshmi _______________________________________________ Open Source Software on Handheld Devices.
