help on GPRS bluetooth networking in gpe/familiar?

Hi all,
I am trying to get bluetooth networking working between my ipaq and my cell phone (GPRS) - I have seen the wiki pages: http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/BluetoothHowto and http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/BluetoothConfig (this looked interesting, but seemed more like a wish list)

I am running 0.8.4-rc2.3 familiar GPE on a h2200.

I have an rfcomm entry set up for the device (I've done this before with gpsd and it works like a charm) and I know all the connect strings and such I need to send to CINGULAR, but I am missing how to connect these pieces.  I would appreciate any help or pointers.
