link on gpe-desktop

Hi,
I wrote a shell-script which should be run as root. I want to put a link 
onto gpe-desktop so I have some questions:
-I should write a desktop-file in /usr/share/applications, am I right?
-How can I create my own folder on gpe-desktop?
-Is there any gpe-desktop-editor, which I can create/edit/delete 
icons+links (like menu-editor in kde)?
-If I tap on the icon, then the program is started as a normal user, am 
I right? How can I start a programm as root (if possible without 
password)? Do I need sudo?
