Hello,

Well as the developer of gpe-mini-browser I can tell you it does if you
compile libcurl with some SSL support. (either openSSL or GNUTLS). However
this does not happen automatically in OE. This might be added later.
The main reason why it is not used atm is space. As cookies are not working
yet, HTTPS is quite useless. So we do not want the extra dependencies etc..

I have been recently trying to get the cookie support to work, but until now I
have failed. (gtk-webcore being c++ and I not having really great c++ skills
neither any real knowledge of all those particularities. Work and progress on
it is slow.) Cookie parsing kind of works, however they don't seem to be used
so website usually assume the browser refuses cookies.

It is indeed... And I really hope that some day I can pull it off...

A version with an SSL enabled libcurl should make this work for you, unless
you run in trouble with cookie handling as mentioned above.

Regards,

Philippe
