If you do it anyway, it happens without my consent. > Then let's postpone this, say, for 4 weeks then, OK? It would be a start and will probably give more people a chance to speak up, but at the end of the day I'm afraid it doesn't change much. Sadly, in your original message, you already expressed your intention to ignore objections if there were "not many". > PS: Frankly I am pretty annoyed but the tone that is frequently coming > up from people in the vicinity of hh.org when it comes to discussions > and problems. I'm sorry if there was anything wrong with the message I sent, but offhand I can't think of anything other than bringing up some of the tiny details that you apparently did not want to become public. If you had had nothing to hide you would have complied with the legal requirements in the first place. It's funny how quickly the provisional "Impressum" (imprint) showed up on linuxtogo.org. Also you would have made the connections of linuxtogo.org to you personally and to kernel concepts GbR apparent in your original message. > So I formulated my proposal a little more decisive. I'm afraid you forget to mention that your "proposal" was sent only after the fact. It doesn't seem likely to me that you will actually listen to objections against something that has already been done for the most part. gpe.linuxtogo.org was already live (it still is) and it's probably just a matter of importing the CVS snapshot Florian took the morning before you sent your original message to complete things (apart from the usual sed scripts and turning on the new mailing list). In his latest message to gpe@, Florian makes it very clear that it's all about control. You assert that GPE as a whole is your project, and want to have your project under your control on a platform you control. Many of the events that happened earlier this year suddenly make a lot of sense, most importantly the pressure that was applied on various GPE contributors to re-license their code under LGPL which allows linking against non-free applications. You have lost a lot of credibility and will have a hard time to convince at least me, and hopefully others as well, that the reason behind this is not solely to get the GPE project under your control. I urge all present and past GPE contributors to carefully (re-)consider the current situation and express their opinion. Speak up, say what you think!
