Hello! Thanx for your response. We saw the gtkperf statistics with 2.10/2.6 and we are considering 2.6 on DirectFB as it is fast. So, can any of you tell how much effort it takes to port GPE applications like calendar and PIM applications onto GTK 2.6 -Directfb. What kind of issues can come up for this. Thanx in advance. I think there is no need to run GPE on gtk+ 2.10 directfb : 1. gtk+2.10 is more slower than gtk+2.6 , you can use GtkPerf to test the speed of 2.10/2.6. (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/performance-list/2006-July/msg00084.html) 2. According to my experience , gtk-x11 need about 4M sdram more than gtk-directfb, most of the linux based smartphones/pdas have 64M sdram , it enough for gtk-x11 --- I think so. 3. gtk-directfb is more immaturer than gtk-x11 4. gtk+-2.10-directfb need cairo-directfb , and cairo-directfb is not mature for a product. btw: ??????gtk+?? 2006/9/21, Raju S N <[email protected]>: > > Hi all, > > How much effort it takes to port GPE applications like calendar and PIM > applications onto GTK-Directfb 2.10 version.
