GPE-Calendar crashes, no xstroke launcher, bootloader not installable, Sync with gentoo,mmc_asic3

Hello list,

First: my Unit spec: H3975
       OS: until last Tuesday: Familiar 0.8.2 with GPE 2.6
       OS: since then: Familiar 0.8.4 with GPE 2.7

As I was not able to perform an update as described at handhelds.org due 
to few disc space during the update process, I decided to backup /home 
and /etc to the SD-Card and flash the unit with a new image.
All worked fine with the jffs2 image, but the bootloader was not able to 
be uploaded via ymodem.
Never mind I thought - the new image is on, let's boot;-)

So the new system is booting perfectly, I'm restoring the .calendar 
database and adjusting the /etc/bluetooth conf, the kbdd, all fine.
Bluetooth works out of the box, fully able to connect to my PAN-Network.

Issue - Calendar Application:
Unfortunately the calendar application is not working to well for me.
After the restore of the .calendar file the calendar starts up, and all 
entries except those with a recurrence  are not shown.
Why?
Have there been any updates in the database structure? If yes, is there 
a way to update the database the way all entries are shown?
What else might the problem be?

Issue - xstroke:
I could not find any xstroke launcher in GPE.
At the moment I use an init.d script which starts xstroke right after 
gpe-start.

Issue - mmc_asic3:
The necessary module for mmc-cards is still not auto mounting in this 
version.
I'm helping my self now by using an init.d script - is there a better 
work - around?

Issue - Bootloader:
I've used minicom for the update process.
After typing load bootldr and choosing a file via ymodem to be uploaded, 
the upload process begins within the mincom "Upload Windows" which shows 
upload process. After the upload it says "Error retrying..."
I tried the uncompressed as well as the compressed image - same situation.
Is this a known problem?
The image.jffs2 did upload then perfectly.

Issue - Sync with gentoo:
Is anyone of you a gentoo user who could give me a hand in getting my 
gentoo-gnome notebook and my gpe-ipaq to sync?
Basically I'm struggling around with the installation of the necessary 
libraries and programs on my notebook.
I did everything described in the handhelds gpe wiki, but in multisync 
no additional plugin is shown.
