I've been trying to install familiar-opie 0.8.4 on the hx4700 I recently bought. I've managed to flash the correct bootloader (v1.2.4) from the SDG website. I then went on to install zImage-2.6.15-hh2-ipaq-pxa270 with no problems. Next came bootopie-v0.8.4-ipaq-pxa270.jffs2, which again installed with no errors. After installing those two files I pressed the power button to reboot. Up came Tux and the "Please wait: booting" message. After about 10 minutes or so the screen flashed briefly (less than a second) then the usual tux and booting message returned. I left the ipaq on for another 30 minutes or so but nothing else happened. I tried tapping the screen and tux dissappeared but the booting message remained. After another 20 minutes I hit the reboot button. Tux returned as did the booting message. Another 20 minutes passed with no result so I popped out the battery waited a couple of minutes and replaced it.Tux and boot message but nothing else. I then tried installing familiar-gpe 0.8.4 instead and after a *much* shorter wait it booted up with out any problems. I'd like to get opie working can anyone suggest something else I can try?
