I ran into this myself.

You have to *reset the battery*. The procedure is listed at the IPAQ 
website somewhere ...

This is *not* the same as a Hard Reset operation. It is *separate* frmo 
that process.

Please report back with the URL if you find it. Otherwise I'll try to 
search for it myself (look for "battery reset IPAQ" or somesuch).
