Hi, I've ran familiar in the past (0.7.0, 0.7.2 and 0.8.0) on a 3660 and all was great (except for the lack of hardware wifi and bluetooth). I've had a h5450 for a long while now running CE and i've finally replaced the functions i use with other devices. So i decided to give familiar another go. Since doing that i've probably wasted a good 3 days and i'm still no closer to having a working (eg screen, wifi and bluetooth) system. I've tried 0.8.4, 0.8.2 and 0.8.0 opie, gpe and bootstrap. Bootstrap gave me the best support but would hang when doing any network interface operation (even after removing the modules from the init). All the others, well i've had any number of the following problems: - hangs at usb-eth module init (after printing the message), fixed by removing it from the cradle (even when the usb cable is not plugged in anyway) - hangs at the proc message (a couple of resets fixed that, thanks to this list) - hangs at networking (ctrl-c will allow it to continue) - hangs after tainted module warnings (nothing will allow it to continue) - on gpe hangs at the updates then the gpe calibration screen appears but doesnt accept input. - opie will boot to a login prompt but nothing on the lcd screen. Would love to get these fixed. If anyone has a custom build/suggestions etc please throw them at me. All i want is a linux bluetooth based wifi access point. Eg. WiFi in master mode, bluetooth dialup to the mobile phone providing 3.5g internet access for non-bluetooth devices (iPod touch & psp). If you have other suggestions on how to achieve this i am all ears ( and dont suggest a laptop! ) Thanks for your help in advance. _______________________________________________ The Familiar Linux Distribution Familiar mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/familiar irc://irc.freenode.net #familiar
