  I'm not sure what are you trying to do -- after upgrading firmware to
1.103.x version you will not be able to use wifi in linux environment,
because the at76c503 driver only supports WEP firmware.

  What do you mean by 'emulation' ? You can not run hp's upgrade tool in
linux, as far as I know the only way is utility from atmelwlandriver,
but I have not tested it myself.

  That doesn't sound very promising -- did you follow installation
instructions? (as far as I know, there is some particular order
required, but I don't remember details).

  So far the upgrade to WPA-enabled firmware results wifi adapter, which
is unusable with linux. For the time being, I would stick with WEP
firmware... .
