Hello there, Greets to all list members. This is my first posting. I decided to put linux on my XDA... so i collected several information and finally found the tool haret that runs linux kernel without reflashing the XDA. I think it's the way to go until I found the distribution that runs well on my XDA 2 (Himalaya). So, there is the first problem... familar distribution is developed for HP IPaq's... will it run with my XDA 2? This page describes booting familar linux kernel with that device: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HimalayaLinuxBooting (I bootet the offered kernel and initrd image successfully, but it's not a familar kernel) The XDA2 contains an XScale Processor, Intel PXA263A (400Mhz)... i think it's very similar to some IPaq devices... My first question: in which mode should I compile the familar kernel, 32Bit little-endian or 32Bit big-endian? The XScale can run in both modes, right? Or should I even run in 16 Bit mode? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)! ************************** Ole [email protected] ************************** _______________________________________________ The Familiar Linux Distribution Familiar mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/familiar irc://irc.freenode.net #familiar
