Hi, I have installed and verified the bootldr as described on http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0.8.2/install/bootldr-activesync.html . If I understood correctly I have to use the serial install, as I have the h5550 model. So, I tried this http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0.8.2/install/install-serial.html I hold down the joypad and push the reset button. Then, as the web page predicts, "For H5xxx: When the iPAQ buzzes, release the joypad. The screen will not change from whatever was previously displayed (blank, PocketPC, etc)" I do push the calendar button after this (I also tried all the other buttons, and tried taking the battery away for a while and putting it back, and restarting the PPC again) This is all true, but when I put the PPC back to the cradle which is connected to the serial port, the terminal emulator doesn't see it at all. There is no message from the PPC on the terminal, and I can input text on the terminal and press Enter to no effect. The emulator and serial port work OK, as I did receive signals from the PocketPC on the terminal (I use GtkTerm on Ubuntu Linux, but the same happened with minicom, kermit and hyperterminal on WindowsXP) from the WindowsCE system, so I assume it is the bootldr that does something wrong. (I also did set all the speed bit parity flow etc stuff as described) The original PocketPC WindowsCE still loads correctly, so I guess the bootloader works at least a bit :) But I don't like Windows, its useless for me, please help... ChrisC PS I posted this on bootldr list, too, I hope the problem is relevant to both lists. _______________________________________________ The Familiar Linux Distribution Familiar mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/familiar irc://irc.freenode.net #familiar
