PPP over Serial connection to Windows XP Desktop

Hi All, I've just installed the Familiar v.0.8.4 on my h2200 series iPaq and am trying to get it talking to the outside world. Snag is: I'm only running Windows desktop machines at the moment. I'm not having any joy with the usbNet approach (see separate mail to this list) and am now trying the ppp-over-serial approach. I've configured the iPaq and Windows XP desktop as per the HowTo on http://www.handhelds.org/howto/win2kppp/win2kppp.html. I get as far as the login prompt in the Pre-Dial Terminal Screen (on Windows). Initially, I get the prompt: ATE1 Password: Pressing Carriage-Return at this point, gives me the usual login prompt. Using 'ppp' as the login, I get the response: Warning: Cannot change to home directory /usr/sbin/pppd in file: /etc/ppp/options: And then I get the login prompt again. In setting the iPaq, I configured the /etc/ppp/options file to match that given on the HowTo. However, the original options file contained only the single line: lock. Modifying the options file so that it consists of just this line and the two specified in the HowTo, makes no difference to this behaviour, though. Can anyone suggest a way forward?
