For Zaurus (Opie or X11), you may want to consider using the Angstrom distribution (http://www.angstrom-distribution.org). It's 2.6-based and there are even webtools (Narcissus) for compiling our own image. Even ipaq users may consider Angstrom a better alternative today than the stalled 2.4-based Familiar. User are also abandoning this list because of the amount of spam we are subjected to, so it's hard to get any support here. Also many Handhelds developers are now working together with Angstrom people.
