booting intimate with 0.5pre

To answer my own earlier question
Changing 253 to 254 in /etc/init.d/devfs
gets the screen going for my setup...

mknod /dev/ts c 254 0                                                           
mknod /dev/tsraw c 254 1 

From earlier discussions it looked like there might be more
elegant ways of doing this - are there?
