intimate installation reboots into familiar - why?

 Hi,
 
 I have followed the instructions for installing intimate onto a 32 meg 
 ipaq with micro-drive, familiar v0.4 and  bootldr 2.14.5 
 and yet don't seem to be able to boot into intimate. The final 
 instruction is to type reboot at the prompt which brings back familiar 
 v0.4.
 
 Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
