Well, I've just discovered that the system won't boot if I put the flash card in the second PCMCIA slot and card services are enabled --- it says: cardmgr[243]: Card Services release does not match cardmgr[243]: initializing socket 0 cardmgr[243]: socket 0: Grey Cell GCS2000 Ethernet . Starting kernel log daemon: klogd. Starting NFS common utilities: statd. nfs: server grit not responding, still trying nfs: server grit not responding, still trying nfs: task 2862 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2863 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2864 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2865 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2866 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2867 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2868 can't get a request slot nfs: task 2869 can't get a request slot If I try it without pcmcia-cs, it all seems to work and I get lots of /dev/hda entries; but none of them are openable.
