Hi,

I have this idea:

How about getting a standard ROM board for this device and desolder
those mx ROM chips and soldering some flash chips instead?

I have the possibility do to such soldering operations.

It would require some wire-patching I'm sure (different pinout etc).

But would it be feasbile?

How about using tiny 32kB flash just for a bootloader capable of loading
second stage bootloader from a CF card?

This way we could just flash this memory once with trivial, limited code
and do upgrades only on a CF

What do you think?

bye,
Filip
