Jornada 56x - Windows Image

I just picked up my Jornada 56x again the other daya dn decided to try and put 
windows back on it for a while. After figuring out how to unprotect it to get 
the image back on I started running into issues.
I have two wince_image.gz files. One that may be the original backup from a 
few years ago when I first put linux on it, coming in at 14,731K, and one I 
downloaded from Alex's (chicken's) site at handhelds.org (15,235K). 
Either image only gets me so far. They both upload find, pass checksum, and 
get written. However once I try to boot into wince I get nothing. The last 
thign the terminal says is "Booting Wince..." and I get no response from the 
Jornada. 
I have tried both images, tried going back to the Opie (which works) and then 
back to WinCE (which didn't). I vaguely recall that this might be a j567 not 
568 (which I almost recall as being the difference between retail and buying 
direct from HP). Bootloader is 2.21.12.

Does anyone have any ideas or can anyone confirm that one of the images is 
exactly the size it should be?
