Hi folks, I've been fighting with getting kernel 2.6.17 compiled and running for my Jornada 720 - without flashboard, running Familiar 0.8.2+OPIE at the moment, with kernel 2.4.32 IIRC. I used patches from Kristoffer's page, which is probably what will be used in jlime. Built crosstools fine, the compiler works and all - very impressed with it as I remember doign this setup manually a couple of years back. Thing is, a compileable and functional config file escapes me: - jornada720_defconfig from arch/arm/configs/ compiles but is missing a few options such as touchscreen support (can't remember others that are missing). - with jlime_defconf I cannot compile: several undefined references, unfortunately I do not have the error messages with me, but I can get them tonight or tomorrow if requested I also tried booting the 2.6.13 compiled by Adam Pribyl (I think it's Adam anyway, at http://www.lowlevel.cz/log/pivot/entry.php?id=41) which boots fine, but the touchscreen doesn't work. Building my own config file from scratch, building the drivers I need into the kernel, results in a 1.1 MB zImage, that boots and then panics on one driver after another. :-/ Has anyone here compiled 2.6.17 successfully, would they be kind enough as to send me their .config file so I could use that as a basis? Or is there something I have obviously overlooked, such as only building device drivers as modules and the like? I could use the default config and just add options as needed of course, but there seems to be a few pitfalls I'd rather avoid. Thanks, Michael _______________________________________________ jornada mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/jornada
