Wouldn't think so. It might be a possibility, but I think it would require something like grub (or the replacement bootloader handheld.org has for the ipaq). But it would be interesting to do a quick flash of one OS to another. ________________________________ From: Greg Nutt [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 2006 8:23 AM To: Tim Underwood Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [jornada] Returned to the Jornada world Multi-boot Jornada? IhopeIhopeIhope. "Mongo only pawn in game of life." Oh, I hope not. More on topic: Given that the CPU and the video will not be getting an upgrade, my understanding is that Mark is trying to basically: - get something like the old HP flashboard so we can have Linux onboard (for better power management) - add more RAM to it (I guess 128MB would be a good fit) Is that right? Michael I know this isn't the proper "forum", but another consideration, in addition to Linux is CE6. With Microsoft's release of the kernel source, and getting PB (or the equivalent) for $1000, it could make it possible to put CE6 on a new flashboard. I have NO idea what the licensing is like, and MS may well have thought through that one anyway and killed the ability to do so - but it is a possibility. Personally, I'd rather have Linux - but some may prefer CE, and the ability to reflash the J7xx makes it interesting. _______________________________________________ jornada mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/jornada
