Re: about jornada serial port

IIRC the serial console is pretty much compiled into the kernel command
line parameters. And common sense says that you can't have a serial
console running on a port where you're going to use a mouse, which you
supposedly have already taken care of. 

Another possible cause could be that your D9 gender-changer only changes
the gender. In other words it's not acting like a null modem cable, where
TX is directed to RX, and vice versa. If you have spare cables and adapters
you could try putting one of those gender adapters in both ends of a null
modem cable, and connect the Jornada cable and the mouse through it. It's a 
shitload of cables to carry with your device in order to use a mouse, but 
that was only normal in the heydays of serial devices :)
