hi there!
im not yet trying to get linux running on the jornada 720 but still in vain
trying to run either hpcboot or linexec. :-(
(i did a reset to the machine so it is running a german windows ce version 3.0
at default options.)

i followed this howto: http://www.lowlevel.cz/log/pivot/entry.php?id=41
but when things didnt work, i also had a glance at this one:
http://homepage1.nifty.com/kyou-kyou/jornada/en/howto_install001.html

the first howto links here:
http://wwwcip.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/~simigern/jornada-7xx/linexec/
for linexec. that version gave an error message by windows which read
something like, the program tried to do invalid actions (i dont know how the
message would read in english as i have a german version of windows ce on the
machine)...
but the version in the directory old/ gave: the program or one of its
components is missing and i should make sure that all paths are correct and
the needed libraries are available.
later on, i found this directory: http://nyanyan.to/linux/ and it was exactly
the same again - something is missing, according to windows' accurate error
message.

this hpcboot version:
http://acid.ch.pw.edu.pl/~sq5bpf/mylinux/linux-jornada720/jornada/
used with the files i got from the second manual
(http://homepage1.nifty.com/kyou-kyou/jornada/en/howto_install001.html) gives
the same error, which makes it different from the one you get through the
manual which gives the "invalid action"-message.

so. i have no idea what all that information could be good for. but maybe it
helps understanding my confusion.
i hope someone is able to give me a hint how people could ever be able to try
to get linux to run on that machines while i cannot even give it a chance to
start.
whatever. if you have at least the faintest idea, please tell me. i have run
out of them.
