I suppose a simple line level attenuator would do the trick. the biggest problem would be finding space for an additional connector inside the jornada. after that - just wire the jack, so that the microphone is connected when there is no jack inside. the level attenuator and a DC blocking capacitor can be external to the jornada in the cable (inside some heat-shrink tubing). i'm not sure if the jornada can handle PSK31, due to no floating point capabilities, however RTTY and SSTV should be ok vy 73 Jacek SQ5BPF
