You can of course work round > this by adding soming like 'xterm -e my_prog' to your 'Exec' entry. i've had a lot of trouble getting this to work in the past. oh -- wait -- i guess my problem was unrelated. it works okay in debian /usr/lib/menus entries (i haven't tried .desktop), but i can't get it to work from monolaunch (mb-applet-laucher). i think it's because of the way xterm disassociates itself as much as possible from its parent. i wrote a character-based wireless stumbler that i wanted to launch from the panel, but haven't been able to figure out how. paul =--------------------- paul fox, [email protected] (arlington, ma, where it's 68.5 degrees)
