After some more playing around, I think it has less to do with
matchbox-remote and is more like a matchbox-panel or mb-applet-launcher
problem.

There seems to be an inactive period on the launcher after it starts
an application.  It seems to not accept any mouse clicks for ~10-15 sec.
after it lauches the app.  After that it will accept clicks again.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Matthew, I could not find any links on the matchbox site regarding
submitting patches.  So, I'll just attach the panel-toggle patch
to this posting.
