yes, someday i'll probably build my own again (i did initially,
around 0.5.something, i think), but right now i'm enjoying the
luxury of "apt-get upgrade". :-)  and, i'm also enjoying the
luxury of running on a fairly powerful (as these things go)
device, with a big screen and plenty of memory.  so a "desktop"
version works fine for me.  (but a big screen needs big fonts, which
is how i really noticed the problem...)
