cool. Matchbox could still be alot faster. Avoid themes with gradients
they are incredibly craply implemented.

Try the 'blue theme' from the mb-themes tarball [1]

grab mmenu tarball [1] , It parses debian style /usr/lib/menu. It does
however use xft for its fonts which may cause problems ... though its
on my TODO to remove this dependency.

Also may I ask what psion model you are running it on ? Id like to maybe
pick one up.
