i see.  i guess i'm always looking for a list of strings.  this will
do fine.

oh, gee, i'm sure whatever you do will be fine.  it just occurred to
me last night that if the doc source had been there, even if i didn't
have the tools or inclination to build it, that i could have looked
in the source for the missing footnote.

i should have said "no concept of _multiple_ desktops"  is that
more correct?  i was thinking of all of wmctrl's "list desktops" and
"move window to desktop N" commands.

but of course.  given our probably simple needs, the only things
i'd want all in one program are "next", "prev", "select-by-name",
and "close-by-name".  all are available in one or the other
program -- getting them all in one would be frosting.
