Can you give us a little more information on what you're running? Your
Matchbox version would definitely help!

Also, I would suggest you run matchbox-desktop with strace and see
what it is trying to load that fails to.

Ensure your X server is running and that there are no authorization
issues with it (like, can you see any other application on your X
server?)

I haven't had much luck with matchbox-session myself, but I have a
rather old version of Matchbox anyway! I'm sure somebody else can shed
some more light on this.
