problems

Hello all,

I'm new, so I know less than nothing about matchbox,
but I've read a lot and I'm enthusiastic about it.=20
Its a much needed entity in the linux world.  I
downloaded matchbox to my desktop just to try it out
before I run out and buy a new toy to install it on.=20
I logged in to the console of my machine and ran
matchbox-window-manager, but it failed saying that I
needed to chech my DISPLAY variable.  So, I did a echo
$DISPLAY and the output was blank.  I'm running Ubuntu
5.04.  Someone want to help a newbie out?
