Re: 3.5.4.1 status update and BSP request

Here are my notes for hrw's opie image. I hope it's of some use:

Test of OZ 3.5.4.1.pre-final release dated 04-Jul-2006 13:33
Tested on terrier
Applies to OPIE IMAGE ONLY

Problems:

- sound appears to be disabled:
  o sound applet isn't present in tray
  o media player can't even play .WAVs, saying "no input plugin found for this media type"
  o however, dmesg shows no complaints with WM8750 initialization
- USB flash drive:
  o doesn't see it
  o dmesg reports seeing device inserted, but "no configuration chosen from 1 choice"
- Backup/Restore generates no backup file when destination is CF


Inconclusive:

- Bluetooth USB dongle:
  o my unit is Cambridge Silicon BT USB dongle (vendorid 0x0a12)
  o dmesg shows that configuration #1 was chosen
  o BT manager allows a scan for devices, and fails when dongle is not present
  o but I can't test any further because I have no other BT devices


Successes:

- IRDA:
  o Successfully beamed an appointment from Palm to Opie datebook, although the Todo list is always brought up for no apparent reason
- Real time is retained across reboots (yay!)
- Apps respond correctly to display rotation
- SD flash card is read properly

Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
