Problems building with recent org.openembedded.dev tree?

Hi,

I'm trying to build a bootstrap-image with an org.openembedded.dev
tree that I checked out yesterday. I have a similar problem with a
tree that was checked out using a revision from the end of June
(--revision=8285fffeea14ff0cd3878dcb884e0b5144db0c60).

I don't completely understand what's going on, but it seems like
there's something messed up with a dependency somewhere. The build
starts, and the first thing that it tries to build is quilt-native,
which seems to ripple down to gnu-configure (some cvs version), in
which the patch step fails because it's trying to use quilt.

I've been slowly copying various binaries from an directory built
using an older org.openembedded.oz354x directory (e.g. various auto*
stuff) and at each step I get a bit further before it blows up. At
this point I'm sure that I've built a house of cards and I should just
straighten it all out.

I'm using a local.conf file that worked with an org.openembedded.dev
tree from early/mid-june, and I'm currently checking out earlier
versions of the tree to see if I can get it to build.

Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

I don't see anything that seems significant when I diff my local.conf
against the sample in org.openembedded.dev/conf/local.conf.sample
[sic?].

Thanks,

g.
