NOTE: consider defining a PREFERRED_PROVIDER to match runtime

I've tried various combinations of PREFERRED_PROVIDER_xxx_yyy += 
"linux_openzaurus" in the
local.conf file, but have yet to stumble upon the one that makes it 
work.  Is the problem one of defining the proper
PREFERRED_PROVIDER statement?
