Why isn't the flash used on models with a internal microdrive?
The main reason is that you have a lot more space available on the
microdrive, which doesn't wear out after a number of write cycles.
The other reason is that reading and writing from the microdrive is so
much faster, since all the data doesn't have to go through gzip like
with jffs2.
