development (though not lately). So I'm not unfamiliar with this stuff. 
The previous install on this machine was pdaxrom.

This is more complicated than it appeared at first. I suspended my 
machine while on A/C power prior to going to bed last night. This 
morning, still on A/C power, it will not wake up. Displayed on the 
screen is just text showing two pairs of (presumably from previous test 
suspends/reawakenings):

Stopping tasks: =========================|
Restarting tasks...done

and then
Stopping tasks: =========================|

and that's all she wrote.
