If this is the problem with apache it could be solved in one of a few
ways. OE now has qemu set up in it to allow "native" commands to be
run. Perhaps the compilation could be run through qemu.

Another option is to compile and package it on your Z and then send
the ipk to hrw for inclusion in the contrib feeds until it's sorted
out in OE.
