Japanese fonts

Okay, it doesn't seem that there's been anything said about Japanese and
OZ this year, so here goes.

I'd like japanese input, but for the moment I'll settle with just
japanese fonts / output.  I see there are a few japanese fonts in the
opie feed (love the feed browser), but they don't seem to work.  For
test material I'm using Jim Breen's edict file (rather a sub-section of
it).  I thought the edict was based off of Unicode, and I've installed
"unifont" which I imagine to be the Unicode font?

Anyway.  If I can't get it under OZ, any suggestions for other roms that
will have better support?
