wakeup from suspend: atd, cron and opie's datebook

Hello,

What is the purpose of installing of the "atd" daemon, if the "at" tool is
nowhere to be found?

Had anyone succeeded to install working (e.g. waking up from suspended
state) atd or cron daemons?

On my collie, opie's datebook defined alarms work only if atd daemon is
*not* running. How can I have working both datebook's alarm and custom
scripts launch?
