I had been trying to get the 5600 to talk to my Ubuntu
box via the USB cradle. I'm pretty sure the only file
I altered was /etc/network/interfaces. Or do you mean
there was a hardware bit I might have screwed up?

Unless that resides somewhere in the onboard
circuitry, then no. If that was something I had to
have explicitly produced, then my bad.

I do not have any Sharp ROM/OS anything. The 5600 was
a gift and Sharp says I have to send it back to them
if I want their OS put on it. I'd hate to have to do
that since, at the very least, I'm learning something
bumbling around here :)

I'll keep banging away at it - in my copious spare
time :) - until I fix it or break it completely.

SL-5600 running OZ 3.5.4 & Opie 1.2.1 under kernel 2.4.18
Ubuntu 6.06 on the desktop
