Well, I tried that with no luck. *Any* attempt to
flash from a CF card results in the errors I noted
earlier. To the flash routines, the CF card (or SD
card) simply does not exist. It doesn't matter what
OS I am attempting to flash.

>From what I read at the link you provided above, to
flash from the USB cradle I have to have Sharp ROM
version 1.00 already installed on the 5600, Qtopia
Destop Version 1.5.4, the Zaurus Windows USB driver,
the Zaurus "Communications Manager" software &
Intellisync version 3.2E installed on my WinXP Pro
box.

I have none of these and have never had the Zaurus
attached to a Win box.

I can't seem to find "Intellisync version 3.2E"
online.

For now, I'm going to pull the battery and revert it
to the state it was in before attempting to flash and
then see if I can figure out how I farked up the
"devinfo" module and see if I can fix it.

Thanks for the pointers and advice.
Thanks for your patience with the n00b.
Dirk

SL-5600 running OZ 3.5.4 & Opie 1.2.1 under kernel 2.4.18
Ubuntu 6.06 on the desktop
