SD, Collie and Crappix

They say there's no such thing as a dumb question, but they also say there's a 
first for everything, so here goes...

What is the feasibility of creating a kernel module wrapper to get the crappix 
sd module working in 2.6?

I honestly don't know if it's even possible, but it seems to me that if the 
NdisWrapper project can make evil windows lan drivers work under the linux 
kernel, then taking what is effectively a native binary blob that is the 
crappix SD driver and making it work in 2.6 by way of a wrapper module 
shouldn't be impossible.

I know it's going to seem like a wasted effort with the number of collie's in 
the wild both finite and decreasing over time, but there'd be a lot of users 
who'd love the ability to move on with a 2.6 kernel, and I expect that once 
the wrapper was written it would reduce the load on OZ if they don't need to 
keep two kernel releases out there.

Does it sound at all possible or has someone slipped something into my peace 
pipe?

I considered posting this to oz-devel instead, but it's really a user-type 
question (requiring a devel-type answer) so felt it would be better answered 
out here amongst the unwashed masses to save everyone asking their own 
2.6/sd/collie questions :-)

Actually, a wiki entry on the state of Collie's future might be a good idea - 
covering what stops collie moving to 2.6 (just sd?) and what options exist 
for getting there (realistic or otherwise).
