ipkg corruption?

Hello,

with thelp from this list, I have revived my Z5500.

I managed to download a package or two from the command-line ipkg tool
and all was going well. At some point, I wanted to install another
package and tried to find it in the feed browser. The package was
gpe-mini-browser which is part of base. I did:

ipkg install gpe-mini-browser

half-expecting it to just work but it failed with some error code,
suggesting I should do an update of the ipkg cache. So, I did. The
update itself failed with error code 6. Since then, nothing works.
ipkg is simply not updating, downloading or installing anything.

Is it possible that the ipkg cache has been corrupted? If so, how do I
clean it out? Has anyone else seen this problem?
